For over a year, Maile has worked as a school-based therapist in the Santa Ynez Valley, where she supports children and adolescents (ages 4 to 18) using a combination of play therapy, creative expression, and mindfulness techniques. She specializes in helping young clients process and navigate challenging emotions related to trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and more. Before her work as a therapist, Maile served for several years as a vocational nurse, providing care to individuals living with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression.
In her therapy practice, Maile draws on a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her goal is to help clients build resilience, develop coping skills, and empower them to fully engage with both the challenges and triumphs of their unique life journeys.
