Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan. It's based on the belief that energy flows through all living beings and that disruptions or imbalances in this energy can lead to physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments. Here's a simplified explanation of how Reiki works:

Universal Life Energy: Practitioners of Reiki believe in the existence of a universal life energy, sometimes referred to as "ki" or "chi," which flows through all living things through channels in the body called meridians. When meridian channels are open and energy is flowing without blockages, it is said to promote health, balance and harmony in the body, mind, and spirit.

Channeling Energy: During a Reiki session, a trained practitioner acts as a channel for this universal life energy. They use their hands to gently place them on or near the recipient's body, allowing the energy to flow through them and into the recipient.

Healing Touch: The practitioner's hands may hover over specific areas of the body or lightly touch the recipient, depending on their training and the recipient's preferences. The gentle touch is intended to help facilitate the flow of energy and promote health, relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being.

Balancing Energy: The goal of Reiki is to balance the recipient's energy field which supports their overall health. It is believed that when the body's energy is in balance, it can better address physical ailments, release emotional and mental blockages, and support spiritual growth.

Holistic Approach: Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical treatments. It is not a replacement for medical care but rather a holistic approach to healing that addresses the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

Self-Healing: In addition to receiving Reiki from a practitioner, individuals can also learn self-healing techniques to practice on themselves. This may involve simple hand placements or visualization exercises to promote relaxation and self-awareness.

Overall, Reiki is a gentle and non-invasive therapy that aims to support the body's natural healing abilities, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being. While its mechanisms are not fully understood from a scientific perspective, many people report feeling relaxed, calm, and rejuvenated after a Reiki session.

Clients of our 5-day healing program usually experience one Reiki session.  More sessions can be added at the client’s request.
